New year, new food!

While we’re trying to eat healthier and limit our dining out, we’re also trying to get as much of our local favorites we’ll miss the most when we leave here (and i’m on a local business kick)! Tonight we hit up our favorite downtown joint, Tony’s Brick Oven Pizzeria. Love the PLT sandwich and this time tried the shrimp pizza, delicious! Also had fun watching the little one gnaw on the crust!

Can’t hardly believe 2011 is gone!

What a fantastic year for our family! So much to still go back and blog about but I am determined to do it soon and update often! This is not a resolution, it is a must and will do, SOON! In the meantime…

1/2 Birthday!

We can’t believe how quickly the time is going! Taylor is working very hard on cutting her first tooth, rolling all over and enjoying lots of time with Daddy! Paul has been fortunate to have some leave time now that he is home and has dived right in, keeping Taylor home from day care as much as he can.

Seriously kid, you make it hard for mamma to be humble!

Following the lead of our good friends, the Mendoza’s, Taylor enjoyed a 1/2 cake for her 1/2 birthday. I say enjoyed, really she showed little interest. It was sticky cream cheese icing that I made (I figured we’d be the ones really eating it), and I don’t think she liked it much on her hands….where it quickly found its way to her arms, the high chair, her hair, etc. So this didn’t amount to much more than a quick photo op…but it was fun!

We’ve recently been introducing stage 1 foods to Taylor. It’s messy but lots of fun! Although she was slow to dive in here, sweet potatoes have turned out to be her favorite so far. Check out her first few bites!

Meeting Daddy

After 5 1/2 long months of Skype, Taylor finally get’s to meet Daddy (he couldn’t hardly wait to get his hands on her!)

As promised, our dear photographer friend was there and captured these precious moments!

This little guy was pretty happy too…

Taylor is getting so big! Turning like a pro, discovering her feet and laughing alot! She must be happy because it is almost time to meet Daddy! It won’t be much longer now!

These pictures are getting to be more of a challenge now that she is more active and definitely has a mind of her own. No more just propping her up and soliciting a smile, gotta be quick!

Now, there’s a happy baby who would much rather be playing in her sweet exer-saucer from Desiree!

Or, maybe just relax with friends! Things are definitely changing around here quickly!

Today we went for Taylor’s 4 month check up, all is well! Her growth is right where it should be and she is a happy baby with some great motor skills already!

She was happy to show off her rolling skills to Dr. Lawrence. It was then that she discovered the fun of paper!

Approximately 3 seconds later…

Here are her stats:

Weight: 13 lbs 8 oz = 41st percentile
Length: 25 inches = 65th percentile
Head: 16 inches = 29th percentile

So she is staying right where she needs to be! Growing quickly and more lovely every day!
